About Queens Rugby

Queens Rugby Club (QRC) is a New York rugby club based in western Queens and playing out of Randall’s Island. Founded in 2019, QRC is active in the Empire Geographic Union (EGU), participating in competitive rugby union and rugby sevens matches year-round. 

QRC reflects the diversity and grit of the local community, proudly representing the borough on and off the pitch. QRC also brings together the international community, with members past and present hailing from the UK, France, Ireland, Colombia, Paraguay, Australia, Canada, Kenya, the Philippines, Malaysia, Jamaica, and more.

Since its inception, QRC has competed against numerous rugby clubs in NYC, including New York Rugby Club (NYRC), Old Maroon Bronx RFC, Village Lions RFC, Brooklyn RFC, Gotham Knights RFC, Lansdowne RFC, and SUNY Maritime RFC. QRC also travels to participate in rugby tournaments including NJ 7s, Suffolk 7s, and the Can-Am Rugby Tournament at Saranac Lake and Lake Placid.

In 2024, Queens Rugby Club won its first ever title, securing the EGU D4 Championship with a 38 – 13 victory over Hudson Valley Rugby Club.
